Rules

Hello, and welcome to Chronicles of Madrigal!

The following list is a non-exhaustive list of rules all players are expected to follow.
Please note that while all offensive behaviours may not be present of this list, we expect players to behave respectfully around every other person they will encounter on Chronicles of Madrigal.

Additionally, please note that Chronicles of Madrigal staff members reserve the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis, and the actions taken by the staff might differ depending on the case.

Finally, we expect anyone to be able to enjoy Chronicles of Madrigal. May one or several players disturb this, they will be punished accordingly.

1. General Note

Before we dive down into the specifics, here are some general things to know:

  • As stated on the registration page, all players are expected to read and acknowledge all rules. Not knowing about a rule will not be accepted as an excuse.
  • Chronicles of Madrigal owns all accounts and characters created on the server.
  • May you encounter a violation of these rules, reporting the matter to a staff member is the action to take.

2. Expected behaviour

These rules are the behaviour expected from all players on all services of Chronicles of Madrigal.

  • Any form of harassment is strictly forbidden.
  • Refusing to cooperate with a staff member asking something from you is strictly forbidden.
  • Defaming Chronicles of Madrigal or any of its staff member publicly is strictly forbidden.

3. Exploits / Third-Party Softwares

Any of the following behaviours will result in a permanent ban if found guilty:

  • Exploiting a known or unknown bug to get any kind of game advantage.
  • Using any kind of third-party tool to modify the memory of the client.
  • Using any kind of third-party tool to automate gameplay. Please note macros are allowed.
  • Using any kind of third-party tool in order to take advantage of the game.
  • Any kind of item duplication using bugs.

4. Real world trading

Any of the following behaviours will result in a permanent ban if found guilty:

  • Advertising any deal between Chronicles of Madrigal items/currencies and items/currencies outside of the game.
  • Attempting to sell Chronicles of Madrigal items/currencies for real-life items/currencies.
  • Attempting to sell Chronicles of Madrigal items/currencies for other games' items/currencies.
  • Attempting to sell Chronicles of Madrigal items/currencies for other servers' items/currencies.
  • Offering any kind of sale of Chronicles of Madrigal items/currencies for any outside items/currencies.

5. Account Sharing

Please note that account sharing is allowed on Chronicles of Madrigal. However, the following applies:

  • You are sharing accounts at your own risk.
  • Any kind of item or currency stolen from a shared account will not be refunded.
  • You are responsible for other players' activity on your account. Punishments will not be lifted, even if the account owner is not the offender.
  • Any account shared with a player who is about to be permanently banned from Chronicles of Madrigal will also be banned.

6. Scamming

Please note that all decisions are made by you, and items/currencies will not be refunded. This includes (non-exhaustive):

  • Lending money to another player, and that other player not sending the money back.
  • Selling an item for the wrong price in a Private Shop/NPC Shop/Trade.
  • Buying any item from the wrong price in a Private Shop/Trade.

7. Advertisement of external services

The following is strictly forbidden and will lead to punishments:

  • Posting outside links to other servers or such.
  • Publicly suggesting players leave Chronicles of Madrigal to try any other server.
  • Advertising other servers on any of Chronicles of Madrigal's services.

8. Behaviour towards staff

The following is strictly forbidden and will lead to punishments:

  • Insulting a staff member or behaving poorly towards them.
  • Publicly defaming Chronicles of Madrigal or any of its staff members.
  • Refusing to comply to a staff member's request when they are enforcing the rules.

9. Obscene content

The following is strictly forbidden and will lead to punishments:

  • Linking to any explicit website on any Chronicles of Madrigal service.
  • Posting text, images, or links featuring nudity, sex, hard violence, or other graphically disturbing content.
