Survival of the Fittest

We're adding a new PvP mode to go along with TDM! This is a little bit more experimental mode as we don't know if it will be popular or hated, but we want to give a bit of a different environment for players/classes that struggle in the grouped/team environments while still making it competitive by introducing lives.

Here is a quick summary of the mode:

  • Each player has 20 lives.
  • Currently, the battle happens in the same World as Team Deathmatch. This might change in the future.
  • Spawns are randomized across the map.
  • There is a spawn protection of 2 seconds.
  • There is a respawn timer of 10 seconds.
  • This gamemode uses the same streak/shutdown system as Team Deathmatch.
  • The amount of earnable Red Chips is capped at 250 per match. We made it higher than Team Deathmatch as Team Deathmatch is a lot easier, and we assume this mode will be a lot harder. As such, we want to reward players who do well in this mode.
  • Players earn 4 Red Chips per point, earning 2 points per kill as a base. This makes it so that if you go 20 kills (1.0 KD ratio) you should earn at the minimum 160 RC, assuming you didn't get any bonus shutdown points etc.
  • Winner of the battle gets a bonus 25 RC and a special Badge Item as an Achievement reward.

General Changes

  • Added a "Last Online" field in the Guild and Messenger windows, which can be viewed by hovering the character's row.
  • Skills and attacks will now automatically cancel, allowing the user to move, and refunding their cooldown, in the case the target becomes invalid before the attack is fired.
  • If a character's attack gets cancelled from the server-sided range check, they will automatically retry the same attack instead of stopping in their tracks or continuing a combo. Please note it is possible to move to cancel this.
  • Crafting recipes (Blacksmith) for Cloaks and Masks of Levels 20 to 90 have been added, in order to allow players who do not wish to play quests to still progress through the dungeons.
  • Blacksmith level requirements to craft items with an Item Level between 70 and 140 have been reduced.
  • The recipe for Weapon Grading for items with an Item Level of 120 and below has been updated:
    • The amount of required materials have been heavily reduced.
    • The cost has been heavily reduced.
    • In order to keep Weapon Grading linear, Ankou's Claws and Basic/Refined Metals have been introduced for Grading recipes of Grade B and above.
  • The cost of upgrading and Weapon Grading for Majestic Weapons has been slightly reduced.
  • The amount of "Ore (Epic)" required to craft "Silver Ore" has been reduced.
  • The amount of materials required for crafting and upgrading iLv120 equipment has been lowered.
  • The cost of upgrading iLv120 equipment has been lowered.
  • The drop rate for the following items has been increased:
    • Chiton's Chains
    • Chiton's Tentacles
    • Chiton's Crown
    • Ankou's Bone
    • Kalgas's Tongue
    • Meteonyker's Wing
  • The amount of Daily Energy available for iLv120 equipment dungeons has been increased from 2 to 3.
  • Windward now displays the amount of stacks on its icon.
  • The cost of the Advanced Awakening scroll has been reduced from 100 to 20 Red Chips.
  • The cost of the Cosmetic Weapons & Shields has been reduced from 5000 to 2000 Red Chips.
  • The cost of crafting A & 7% cards has been reduced by about 25%.
  • The amount of cards needed for A card crafting has been reduced proportionate to the amount required for 7%.
  • The 'Choose a Card' Box now contains 2x B or 2x A cards proportionate to the 1x 4%/7% card option.
  • Added a new siege on Friday, at 18:00 Server Time.
  • The MvP of Siege now also unlocks a Trophy Badge through a new Achievement.
  • The following updates have been made to the PvP schedule:
    • 11:00: Team Deathmatch is now Survival of the Fittest.
    • 23:00: Emerald Battlegrounds is now Survival of the Fittest.

Balance Changes

  • The amount and HP of monsters in iLv120 equipment dungeons has been heavily reduced.
  • Monsters in all iLv120 equipment dungeons are now all aggressive.
  • The HP of bosses in The Depths has been normalized. The first 4 bosses now all have the same HP, and the final boss has slightly more.
  • The DPS and activity requirements to receive rewards from The Depths bosses have been adjusted.
  • Assist
    • Adrenaline has been converted to an aura-type passive buff. This buff will automatically apply to party members within range, and always be applied for self.
      • Please note classes that are not Assist were not balanced with this buff being permanently present in mind. As such, no balance change is needed for this.
  • Blade / Slayer
    • Battle Spirit has been converted to an aura-type passive buff. This buff will automatically apply to party members within range, and always be applied for self.
      • Please note classes that are not Blade / Slayer were not balanced with this buff being permanently present in mind. As such, no balance change is needed for this.
  • As the discrepancies in range between classes have been making it increasingly harder to balance both PvP and PvE, we have decided to bring classes' range closer to each other in order to try and bring a fairer environment to everyone. We will be monitoring this change closely to make sure it does not affect the players' experience badly.
  • The following changes have been applied to range:
    • Sticks: Range reduced from 10 meters to 8 meters. Also applies to offensive skills.
    • Wands: Range reduced from 15 meters to 10 meters. Also applies to offensive skills.
    • Staves: Range reduced from 15 meters to 10 meters. Also applies to offensive skills.
    • Bows: Range reduced from 15 meters to 10 meters. Also applies to offensive skills.
    • Battle Cry: Range reduced from 10 meters to 8 meters.
  • Acrobat
    • Fast Walker: Cooldown increased from 20 to 25 seconds.
    • Dark Illusion: Cooldown increased from 25 to 28 seconds.
  • Fierce Fighter: Jumping Height bonus reduced from 60 to 40.

Guild Siege Killstreaks and Shut Downs

We're adding a fresh new feature to give a few more unique rewards to siege and to add something more interesting to it in terms of how people approach the sieges. This system aims to bring a bigger risk/reward to players who are doing well and stay alive but also make those same players more vulnerable to attackers. allowing for a more dynamic battle between players.

Killstreaks

Players can now reach certain killstreak milestones during siege to gain bonus rewards, at the cost of being marked for others.

  • When a player reaches 3 kills without dying they will turn yellow and are given a Chronicles Warrior Crate directly to their inventory.
  • When a player reaches 5 kills without dying they will turn orange and are given a Chronicles Warrior Crate directly to their inventory.
  • When a player reaches 7 kills without dying they will turn red and are given a Chronicles Champion Crate directly to their inventory. This is the cap of the available killstreaks.

Going on a killstreak does not earn any bonus points, only the crates. Below you can see what you can obtain from the crates.

Shut Downs

Players who are on a colored streak can be shutdown by other players who can reap the benefits and jump ahead in their personal streaks as well.

  • Killing a yellow player gives the killer 1 bonus point.
  • Killing an orange player gives the killer 1 bonus point and boosts the killer directly to the 'yellow' killstreak, granting the same crate reward. (if not already yellow or above in streak)
  • Killing a red player gives the killer 2 bonus points and boosts the killer directly to 'orange' killstreak, granting the same crate rewards including the yellow tier rewards (2 crates). (if not already orange or above).

Crate Contents

Please note that the cosmetics obtainable from the new siege crates are ONLY obtainable through these crates, and not in other places. All rewards will be tradeable, all wearable items are cosmetics without stats.

  • Chronicles Warrior Crate can contain any of the following:
    • 1-5x Red Chips
    • 1-2x Flask Choose Boxes
    • 1x "Dark Illusion" Badge
    • 1x "Asalraalaikum" Badge
    • 1x "Hit of Penya" Badge
  • Chronicles Champion Crate can contain any of the following:
    • 10-20x Red Chips
    • 1x "Red Chips" Badge
    • 1x "Warrior's Medal" Badge
    • 1x "Champion's Medal" Badge
    • 1x Dragonscale Cloak
    • 1x Jade Guardian's Cloak
    • 1x Good & Evil Wing Cloak
    • 1x Lancer Set (F)
    • 1x Lancer Set (M)

  • Downsized a texture that was causing a small freeze on load in Pyramids of Anhur.
